Position Summary:
Senior Art Directors have deep experience and a proven track record in creating award-winning designs. They possess a formidable understanding of design technique and a mastery of the craft’s subtleties. With an intense focus on detail and quality, SADs drive the conceptualization of highly creative ideas. Always willing to coach and mentor junior designers, they are leading figures on the creative team and always rise to the challenge.
Senior Art Directors display a relentless internal drive to deliver strategic and sound design solutions on every project. Working alongside copy writers, developers and content creators they are keen team players and self-sufficient multi-taskers, full of original approaches and innovative ideas.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Leading, coaching and mentoring junior designers or interns
Collaborating and delivering constructive feedback to the copywriting team
Editing, refining and improving the work of other writers while maintaining a full workload
Managing multiple projects seamlessly while monitoring the work of the copywriting staff
Offering creative ideas and encouraging others to share theirs
Provide strategic creative recommendations for clients; offer new ideas, concepts, and designs to continuously drive new opportunities.
Performing independent research to understand and communicate the nuances of a product or service
Identifying differentiators and unique selling propositions that aren’t immediately obvious
Drive integration of copywriting and design to different media channels, including digital, print, and video.
Provide strategic creative recommendations for clients; offer new ideas, concepts, and designs to continuously drive new opportunities.
Ability to provide project estimates.
Always be prepared to present and sell your work while clearly communicating the creative strategy around the ‘why’.
Education, Qualifications and Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or related field
3-5 years of experience in graphic design or related field
Awards, internships and other achievements in related disciplines
Tangible graphic design skills a strong record of providing smart, strategic creative solutions.
Proficiency in required desktop publishing tools, including MS Office and Adobe Creative Suite
A strong eye for visual composition
Effective time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines
Willingness to give and receive constructive criticism
Understanding of marketing and design for both traditional and digital media
